Sunday in Taipei

I was SO tired last night since I had been up since 3:30am that I was the one with “the look”. BASTA (in Italian…..enough!). It is a universal look for “I’m done”. We were in bed about 11pm and I woke up at 5am. I will be on a normal sleep schedule when it is time to come home. Our morning starts with instant Starbucks made in our tea maker in the room. Hey, don’t judge, we need to do what we need to do.

After a hearty breakfast we walked down the street to explore. The typhoon has passed and we see some blue sky! There seem to be a lot of weddings happening today. Mr. Sun picked us up at 11:30 and then we picked up Robin and Pat at their place. We were going to a tea house in the mountains but we wanted to make a quick stop at the market first. We were so long at the market we missed the opportunity to go for tea. While at the market, Ken and I were “kidnapped” by a cute couple who were tea makers. We tried their tea, had a long, fulfilling conversation (good afternoon, thank you) and got a photo with a hot, sweaty me. Pat says there aren’t many tourists here.

We were dropped off at the hotel for a couple of hours and then picked up at 5pm for the dinner party at Robin and Pats. Robin and Pat live in an apartment on the 6th floor. Their back yard is a national park. It was a gret gathering of the school's principals and their families. Robin made a great Italian feast. It was so much fun (and a bit surreal) to catch up with Robin and Pat. We are in school starting tomorrow.

Mr. Sun has adopted us. He has begun to have his own ideas of what he wants to show us. We are so lucky to have him!
